چکیده

Halophytic plants can adapt to grow and thrive in highly saline conditions. Suaeda species are annual halophytes with high salt tolerance most suitable the restoration of salinized or contaminated land as food, forage, medicine, bioenergy. In this study, we comprehensively analyzed different metabolic responses under drought stress at ambient elevated CO2 Seedlings were treated 500 mM NaCl 5% polyethylene glycol conditions for 24 h. Then, widely untargeted metabolites detected by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry. Different involved amino acid metabolism, glycolysis, photorespiration, tricarboxylic cycle quantitatively determined after treatments. A total 61 primary annotated. treatments increased contents certain metabolites, such acids, sugars, organic well some antioxidants, quininic acid, kaempferol, melatonin. These substances may be correlated osmotic tolerance, antioxidant activity, medical nutritional value species. This study suggests that various differentially accumulated C4Suaeda varying Furthermore, work provides new insights into key secondary metabolite pathway tolerance.

The investigating of sodium accumulation in some halophytic species of Zygophyllaceae, Polygonaceae, Asteraceae and Amaranthaceae

The identification of the characteristics of native halophytic species is very important for their practical application. The present study was carried out to identify the halophytic species of a desert and highly saline region around the city of Khosf, southern Khorasan Province, and to detect their general tolerance mechanisms (i.e. salt exclusion or inclusion). Sodium accumulation in the roo...

Independent and Parallel Evolution of New Genes by Gene Duplication in Two Origins of C4 Photosynthesis Provides New Insight into the Mechanism of Phloem Loading in C4 Species

UNLABELLED C4 photosynthesis is considered one of the most remarkable examples of evolutionary convergence in eukaryotes. However, it is unknown whether the evolution of C4 photosynthesis required the evolution of new genes. Genome-wide gene-tree species-tree reconciliation of seven monocot species that span two origins of C4 photosynthesis revealed that there was significant parallelism in the...
